This tree was built as the centerpiece for a BBQ restaurant in southern California. Smokey's BBQ was impressed by the faux trees we had created for other businesses and knew it was just the thing their dinning room needed.
This 16‘ tall oak tree has a 16‘ wide canopy fits perfectly into the tight confines of the restaurant. The tree is constructed from foam with a steel support running the length of the trunk and anchored into the concrete. Highly detailed bark molds were taken from real oak trees and are created using a spray polyurea hard coating. These bark sections are then applied to the foam and painted. Once assembled at the location, leaves are applied and final painting occurs.
We added firefly motion lights dangling from the branches and birdhouses with internal speakers playing various forest sounds to complete the scene. These subtle touches add an amazing amount of realism and make the customer feel like they are enjoying great food in the great outdoors.
