In May 2009 we built this dragon to promote the highly anticipated Electronic Arts (EA) video game Dragon Age. Set for release in October, Dragon Age is a game about the survival of humanity which rests in the hands of those chosen by fate. The player is a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians who have defended the lands throughout the centuries. Betrayed by a trusted general in a critical battle, the player must hunt down the traitor and bring him to justice.
The dragon was milled and sculpted from EPS foam, hard coated, and meticulously painted. To keep the piece portable, we constructed the wings, head, and rocks to be easily removable for shipping. We had only 3 weeks to complete this piece and deliver it in time for E3 as part of the enormous EA booth built by Premier Displays & Exhibits.
