In the summer of 2007 the California Mid-State Fair asked DWL to convert a useless pile of boulders into a whimsical old west mining town. Located in the heart of the fairgrounds, this popular meeting spot had been neglected for years and turned into an eye sore. We used old barn siding, rusted metal roofing, and other authentic materials to create a more popular setting. Foam critters, personalized signs, and fanciful props finish the scene.
For 2008, the fair asked us to return to continue theming around the side of the mountain. An old church, saloon, and water tank were added just in time for opening day.
